More Light...Less Cost

30-watt compact flourescent bulbs are now available giving the equivalient of 120-incandescent-watts or 4 times the bang for your electric cost. Take for example our Jasmine Teardrop Table Lamp - it is rated for 2 x 60-watts, 120-watts total, but if you used two of the new 30-watt compact flourescents you would have double the brightness at 240-watts. Quite a difference. Linda and I have been using compact flourescent's for years now and are very satisfied with the results and the energy savings. We find the lowest prices and smallest-sized-bulbs at WalMart. At last count I have not changed an outdoor light bulb in 27-months and counting.

Ceiling Fans for Summer Savings

The best way to save money on your summer air conditioning costs is not to run the darn thing at all. But if you are like Linda and I and want to stay cool when the temperature climbs to 8o or more then you do turn it on, but you also turn on your ceiling fans to better circulate the cooled air throughout the room used. I am told by probably reliable sources in the industry that you can recoup the cost of a $200 ceiling fan within the first year of use on electricity usage saved. Ceiling fans also directly keep you cool all by themselves and if it isn't too hot out keep the air off and the fans on for even more savings. We have a variety of Ceiling Fans in a wide price range. And remember you can also call us for a discount code.
